Graduate degree in history, architectural history, art history, historic preservation, or closely related field.. Meet the Secretary of the Interior's standards for an architectural historian or historian.. Minimum of two years of experience in performing Section 106 review and assessment, archival research, the development and production of historic overviews and historic contexts.. Experience managing the research components of cultural resources projects or in other areas of responsibility.. Competent writing skills and an understanding of the requirements of historic-era cultural resources documentation.. Ability to work independently in the field, and able to work with others to efficiently produce reports.. Ability and willingness to travel for extended periods of time.. Excellent communication skills.. Comfortable working with MSWord, MSExcel, GPS units, photographic equipment, and able to quickly learn new software as necessary.. Experience with TxDOT, Cold War-Era and other military resources, and Section 4(f) documentation.Job Description: Primary Responsibilities:. Performing services associated with the identification, documentation, evaluation, and reporting of historic resources.. Applying NRHP or other criteria to determine the significance and/or integrity of historic resources.. Preparing survey reports, writing, historical research and documentation.. Section 106 review and assessment.. Budgeting and contribution to the preparation of cost proposals.. Archival research.. Development and production of historic overviews and historic contexts.. Participation in other projects that involve assessment, research, and documentation of historic resources..
