Minimum Requirements: BA or BS in geography, GIS computer information science, environmental science, natural resource management, or similar field of study.

Minimum of 2 years experience in GIS, with being in the environmental consulting/engineering field.

The candidate must be experienced with ArcGIS 9.x software, extensions and tools (Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, Map Book, Model Builder, etc.)., Microsoft Suite and AutoCAD/Microstation. Must have excellent communication skills. Ability to model, manage, analyze, process, project, convert, and display geospatial data (both raster and vector) in various formats. Have programming experience with ArcGIS. Must be knowledgeable in publicly available geographic data resources. Candidate must have extensive knowledge of cartographic principles dealing with projections, scales, georeferencing, map layouts and composition.
Job Description: The GIS Specialist will be a part of a team that supports production of reports and other project deliverables. Tasks associated with this position include: Maintenance and creation of GIS data and associated attribute databases; spatial analysis, cartographic output and user support to clients and other staff members such as biologists, archaeologists, engineers, hydrologists, geologists. This position is highly technical in nature and requires a candidate with existing knowledge and skills in order to perform tasks efficiently. Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task and willing to work occasional overtime as work conditions demand.
