Grad School...How to pay for it?

Osteo

I was just accepted into grad school and now I need some advice on how to pay for it... I am studying overseas so I seem to have limited my options.  If anyone has some experience finding funding or some advice they could pass on I would appreciate it!

Sell plasma!

just kidding (kinda).  Fill out and submit your FAFSA form and go into debt.  Look into department and university scholarship offerings.  You can also check out www.fastweb.com for scholarship offerings.

Good luck!

Many people (depending on the school) are able to find funding as Teaching Assistants or Research Assistants after their first semester.  Look into that ASAP - (and definitely do the FAFSA now! - it may be a prerequisite for any aid package).  Look for grants of all kinds as well.  Debt is a given - but the level will depend on what you can work yourself into.  If you can live on campus - look into the possibility of being an Resident Assistant or even Dorm Director (or whatever they call them at your school) - Some places pay tuition for those positions - others just room and board - but either way it's a huge help if it fits your life.

Through combinations of these types of opportunities I got through Grad school with under 10K in debt - (of course that was 20 years ago).

Good Luck.

See if the school has a COS.com account already, or would verify you for oneof your own. Tons of outside grants and other funding sources are posted there.
