Colonial Williamsburg 2010 Archaeological Field School
cwarch
The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and the College of William and Mary offer two sessions of a five-week (6 credit) field school in historical archaeology between June and August 2010 (ANTH 225/425). The field school excavations will take place at the James Anderson Forge site - a late 18th-century blacksmith shop located along Duke of Gloucester Street in the center of Colonial Williamsburg’s restored Historic Area. Participants receive a intensive hands-on training in archaeological field methods, as well as experience in public interpretation, identifying colonial-period artifacts, and analyzing faunal materials. Registration through William and Mary is ongoing.
