What is your average housing as a field tech?

This poll was originally posted in the old forums in 2003 by website member battlestamps:
What kind of housing do you have?
Feb 26th, 2003, 5:59pm Hi all,
I thought this would be a curious poll to take. Given the fact that field techs live a highly mobile lifestyle and don't receive the greatest of wages, it would be interesting to see peoples' living arrangements.
Regards,
Will

This poll has been revived. I will clarify the original question asked... what housing situation do you find yourself in most of the time while working as an archaeological field technician (or crew chief, field director, or other field position)? Your comments are welcome.

I WILL NOT have roomies when I'm on a project and certainly don't want them in my home......HAHA

I will admit that being stuck sharing a room with a stranger can often have very negative consequences. I have a lot of my own horror stories in this department, and have heard some pretty bad ones as well...

Bumping this old thread up to the top for an update. I haven't been on the road in awhile. What are the typical CRM fieldwork accommodations these days? Hotels/motels? Single or shared rooms? Wondering if things have gotten better. In my past experience, getting your own room was the exception and not the norm on projects.

I admit it was a long time ago, but I once went almost three years without paying rent. Either on site (tent) or in the mountains (tepee) when out of work.
